Boy Scout Troop 366 is over 50 years in existence. We support Boy Scouts of military families and retired military in the Fort Leavenworth, Leavenworth and Lansing area. Boy Scouts is a program for boys age 11 to 17 designed to develop character, citizenship and fitness.
Through the advancement program and peer group leadership, Scouting helps a boy develop into a well-rounded young man. The Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank in Scouting, is recognized around the world as a mark of excellence.
Troop 366 has recognized 123 Eagle Scouts since its creation.
Like most parents, you are probably wondering two things: how much will it cost and what is expected of me?
When registering as a new Scout, the cost will be $24 annually for national BSA dues and $50 annually for our Troop fees. A subscription for Boys Life is optional at $12 annually. Troop tee shirts are $7, neckerchiefs are $8.
If you are transferring in from another Troop, you will need to have your BSA card with your son’s identification number on it. The fee to transfer is $1 for national dues if your membership is current. There will be a grub fee each month for the campouts which is typically $10. Many hands make light work! Naturally, we want your help to make this the best year of Scouting ever. We do understand that your time is valuable. There are many opportunities for parents to help make things work on a short-term basis. We ask one adult from every household to commit to serving on at least one committee during the year. Most of the committees are just for one event. Each committee should have at least 5 members. Your role in making things happen could be just a few days over a 3 or 4-week period.
What if you want to do more? Please join us. We rely on Assistant Scoutmasters and Committee Members to play a vital role in teaching the boys and shaping them into the wonderful citizens they will become.
